I have advised a large number of doctoral students who went on to productive, high-profile careers of social impact across the private environmental and economic sectors, academic research and teaching. Additionally, I advise numerous students each year through the Masters of Environmental Science and Management (MESM) degree program at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management. Due to the collaborative, short-term nature of advising groups of MESM students within topical projects, those talented young professionals are not profiled here.
I also welcome outstanding early-career researchers from around the globe to join my lab group as Post-Doctoral Scholars. These individuals bring a breadth of experience and vitality to the research conducted at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management and the Department of Economics at UCSB, and are valued members of the academic community at UCSB. These thought leaders have gone on to accept faculty positions at well-respected universities in the United States and abroad, and continue to collaborate with the Costello Lab.
